Fake-Spotting – How to recognize an original Céline Phantom Bag

1. Céline Phantom Logo
The majority of Céline Phantom Bags feature the Céline logo and “Paris” in capital letters on the front of the bag. However, there are also models where the lettering is completely missing, so for the time being this is not a clear indication of a fake. It is important, however, that the accent is always present on the first “E” of Céline. If this is not the case, it is very likely not an original. Always pay attention to the workmanship of the logo, i.e. the font should not have any quality defects.
2. Material and handles
Like all luxury brands, Céline uses only the highest quality materials. So always keep in mind that all original Céline Phantom Bags are made of real leather and are therefore often heavier than fake products made of cheap materials. Always check the material by doing an odour test, so that you can find out in a few seconds whether it is an original or a fake. Another feature that can give you information about the authenticity of the Céline Phantom Bag is the handles of the bag. Always make sure that the handles of the original products are so short that you usually cannot wear the bag as a shoulder bag. If the handles are suspiciously long, this can be a real indication that you are not holding an original bag in your hands.
3. Serial number
Each original Céline Phantom Bag is equipped with a serial number, which is located inside the bag on a leather patch. Always make sure that the corners of the leather bag are not rounded, but form a 90-degree angle. The serial number usually consists of 3 capital letters and 4 digits and can occur several times, i.e. the numbers do not necessarily have to be assigned once, but are assigned several times. The first letter and the next two letters are always separated by a hyphen.
